Creatio CRM: A first impression

Creatio, formerly known as BPM online, is a CRM and BPM provider that has grown to become a key contender to the current CRM heavyweights. It is shaping up to be one of the leading standards for how future CRM’s look and operate.

Now, I’m very new to the world of CRM, I’m an apprentice at Collier Pickard and have only been here for a couple of months. If you want to find out a bit more about why I chose to do an apprenticeship with Collier Pickard, you can read my first blog here. Having never used a CRM system before starting in my role here, I’ve written this article as a truly first impression piece on Creatio.

In my short time using a handful of different CRM’s, I believe that Creatio’s CRM really is the bee’s knees. Here’s why:

Visuals

What first stood out to me was how clean and modern Creatio looks. Functionality is the priority when it comes to CRM, but if it doesn’t look the part then using it can be a struggle. With Creatio it is just a pleasure to look at.

Most CRM’s that I have worked with aren’t exactly setting the world alight with their colour palettes which gives off the impression that these systems are pretty dated. If your team is using a system day-in, day-out you’d want to make sure that everyone is engaged and Creatio does a great job of this.

Studio Creatio

Now that I’ve got the visuals out of the way, here are my thoughts on Creatio’s functionality and features.

I am a huge fan of the business processes tool, Studio Creatio. It has been designed to be simple and easy to approach regardless of your technical skill-set. You are given the variables and action boxes that you need to make a business process, then all you have to do is drag and drop them into place, make sure that you label everything and ensure that the business process can pull the correct information. It is as simple as that.

It surprised me how simple and effective it is, before getting my hands on it I’d thought that you would have to develop code for yourself, instead, with Creatio’s Low-code platform, it takes that out the way and presents the business process in a highly intuitive visual chart.

Creatio Process Designer

User Portal

Creatio also has an easily customisable customer portal enabling customers to use the portal for their various needs such as forgotten passwords or service queries. This helps out the IT team by enabling them to work on more important matters and it helps the customer to get their issue resolved quickly. It’s a win-win for everyone and just makes life ever so slightly easier.

Creatio Customer Portal

Creatio Pricing

Finally, I’m a huge fan of Creatio’s modular pricing system. Let’s say your business only requires sales and marketing features but not Customer Service, you have the freedom to pick and choose which specific modules you need. If your requirements change in the future, you can easily increase or decrease the licenses as you see fit.

On top of choosing the specific modules that you need, if only two people require access to the Marketing module, then you only need to pay for two licenses.

All in all, Creatio is a very impressive piece of kit that has capitalised on the many gaps that other CRM’s have yet to fill and fair play to them, they’ve made a CRM system that is simple enough for someone like myself, a relative beginner, to use it with ease.
